Tangueros del Sur

History

Tangueros del Sur and its show “Romper el Piso” (Break the Floor) made its world debut at New York City Center, September 24th and 25th 2009.

In August 2010, the complete production of “Romper el Piso” was the undisputed highlight of the Vail International Dance Festival.

July 2011, “Romper el Piso” performed at the Ted Shawn Theater in Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival. September 2011, the company performed at Tamaulipas International Dance Festival in México. May-June 2012, Tangueros del Sur performed in Middle East at Israel Festival at Jerusalem Theater on their 51st Edition. In July-August 2016, the company performed “Romper el Piso” at the Teatro Maipo of Buenos Aires, Argentina. September 2017, the company presented “Romper el Piso” at Herodion Theater in Athens.

In the summer season in Greece with "Romper el Piso" in 2018 performed in eighteen of the oldest Greek theaters; following in September by the world premiere of "Maria de Buenos Aires"

In September 2018, the work “María de Buenos Aires” (a dance version of the Tango Operetta) was premiered in the historical Odeon de Herodes Atticus with original singer of the operetta, the legendary “Amelita Baltar”

Natalia Hills and her "Romper el Piso" had a great success on her 2018 American tour at the Arlene Schnitzel Center Hall with "White Bird and The Soraya-CSUN" in Los Angeles.

Currently it continues the development of artistic creation of new works. Tangueros del Sur is back and in a creative process for a new show..
